For fiscal 2018, HP reported net revenue of $58.5 billion - up 12 per cent from the prior-year period. The net revenue for the fourth quarter was $15.4 billion - up 10 per cent - and the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region grew 17 per cent.

Overall HCP India market grew 23.1% in Q2, HP leads: IDC

The HCP (Inkjet, laser, SDM and line printers) market in India posted the highest growth (year-on-year) of 23.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2018, with HP (excluding Samsung Print) maintaining its leadership with 40.3 per cent market share and a 5.3 per cent growth (year on year), an IDC report said on Tuesday.

HP Inc.'s $1.05 billion acquisition of Samsung Electronics' printing business will give HP Inc. access to a $55 billion market, HP Inc. President and CEO Dion Weisler told CNBC on Thursday.

Telling "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer that the printing business is thriving both at home and in the office, Weisler said that his company is currently only "playing in" $55 billion of the $110 billion market.

"We did the Samsung acquisition because it opens up the other $55 billion copier market to us," Weisler told Cramer. "We have very low market share in that market segment, but we're growing there and so it gives us a growth platform for many years to come."

HP to launch ‘print anywhere’ solution ‘Roam’ next year

Printing on the go from whatever device one carries or wherever they are is likely to become a reality with HP Inc planning to launch its ‘HP Roam’ offerings in India sometime next year.

HP Roam, a cloud-based, cross-platform, locale- and device-agnostic solution, has the potential to replace dedicated PC print drivers that need to be installed and maintained on users’ PCs and network print servers. Users select the HP Roam option rather than a specific printer; and the job gets uploaded on the cloud, sources say. The US-based tech major has already introduced HP Roam in select geographies.

HP plans entry into refurbished market in India

While India has seen a surge in smartphone adoption with over 350 million users, personal computer (PC) adoption is still low.

MUMBAI: HP Inc is exploring entry into the refurbished market for personal computers in India, as part of its push to make affordable products, its top executive told ET.

Refurbished products are second-hand computers repaired to be resold or products that are made by reusing and recycling different components of various computers.

Xerox India looking to improve market share in digital printing segment

Xerox India’s Managing Director Raj Kumar Rishi said the company is looking at increasing the number of channels partners and system integrators it works with in the coming year, with a view to ramping up the company’s market share in digital printing and managed printing services segment for large corporates and enterprises and in the small and medium businesses space. 

“We are looking to grow through our digital offerings and solutions for enterprises. We are also expanding our channels and the launch of the A4 printers has contributed to it,” said Rishi who over six months ago took over as Xerox India’s head after leading Hewlett Packard’s India Print business. By the end of the year the company would double its channel partners from five to ten, he said. 

HP dominated India printing market with 47% share in Q2 2018

With a massive 47 per cent share, printing and PC major HP Inc remained the leader in the overall printer market in India, selling 391,940 units in the second quarter of 2018.

Epson with 24 per cent market share was second (201,565 units) and Canon Group third with 20 per cent (170,002 units) share in the country in the second quarter, according to the IDC's Hard Copy Peripherals (HCP) Quarterly Market Report (2018 Q2).

HP INC REPORTS 2018 FIRST QUARTER RESULTS, 3D PRINTING UNIT UP 28%

The financial results of HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) for the first quarter of 2018 show a positive start. Earnings are above previously issued guidance and the results prompted a 6% increase in share price.

Speaking to analysts and investors Dion Weisler, Chief Executive Officer and President HP Inc., said, “we’re playing our own game … engineering some of the best innovations in our history.”
